This year, the full moons of October, November and December all take place when the moon is at its closest point of approach in its orbit around Earth — a so-called supermoon. 
The next supermoon will be November's full Beaver Moon, which is expected to reach the peak of its full phase on the morning of Monday, Nov. 14, at 8:52 a.m. EST (1352 GMT), but it will appear full to the casual observer in the day before and after the main event. It is the second of three consecutive supermoon full moons for 2016. Live webcasts of this supermoon begin Sunday night (Nov. 13) and run through Monday. Read our Supermoon Webcast Guide for details.
This full moon will be not only the closest and brightest supermoon of 2016 but also the largest since 1948, Bob Berman, an astronomer at the Slooh Community Observatory, told Space.com. What's more, the full moon won't come this close to Earth again until Nov. 25, 2034, according to a statement from NASA. The Slooh Community Observatory will offer a live broadcast for November's full moon on Nov. 13 at 8 p.m. EST (0100 GMT on Nov. 14). Hoy  lunes 14 de noviembre podremos observar un fenómeno astronómico espectacular. La Luna se acercará al punto más próximo de su órbita con la Tierra, produciendo el efecto Superluna. Aquí os dejamos varias curiosidades sobre un acontecimiento que no te puedes perder ya que no se repetirá hasta 2033.
Apariencia de la luna
La Superluna se verá un 14 % más grande y un 30 % más brillante que una luna llena normal. Se apreciará más grande de lo habitual a la puesta y la salida del sol. Tendremos la luna más cercana en 70 años, a unos 356.512 km.
Cómo observarla
No hará falta ninguna herramienta especial para poder verla. Sin embargo, es aconsejable moverse a lugares oscuros, alejados de las grandes ciudades. Es recomendable observarla en su salida, ya que se aprecia más grande cerca del horizonte.
Frecuencia del fenómeno de la Superluna
Anualmente se pueden producir dos o cuatro Superlunas, pero no hay nada preestablecido. En ocasiones la Luna está más cerca de lo normal de la Tierra, pero no siempre coincide con la Luna llena.
Lugares con mayor efecto
Dependiendo de la posición de la Luna, puede parecer que su tamaño varía. La ilusión lunar es la falsa apreciación de observar la Luna mucho más grande que el horizonte.
Nombre
Actualmente, la Superluna se ha popularizado para referirse a las lunas llenas que pasan cerca del perigeo, por lo que suelen provocar mayores fuerzas de marea, un 37 % más intensas, y tienen un diametro mayor de lo normal. El termino Superluna fue acuñado por el astrólogo norteamericano Richard Nolle en 1979.

1. 5 November is known as Bonfire Night or Guy Fawkes Night.
2. Guy Fawkes was born on 13 April 1570 in York, and died on 31 January 1606 in London.
3. He was alive during the end of Queen Elizabeth I’s reign, and the beginning of King James I’s reign.
4. Guy Fawkes was a Catholic, and didn’t agree with the Protestant faith of the King.
5. Guy became friends with Robert Catesby, who had an idea to kill the King by blowing up the houses of Parliament.
6. It was actually Robert Catesby who led the Gunpowder Plot, not Guy Fawkes – there were 13 people involved.
7. The job Guy Fawkes had in the Gunpowder Plot was to guard the 36 barrels of gunpowder that had been stored in a basement underneath the House of Lords.
8. Guy Fawkes was arrested in the basement on the day he was going to light the gunpowder, 5 November, and he was taken to the Tower of London.
9. King James I decreed that 5 November should be the day that people always celebrate that the Gunpowder Plot didn’t happen.
10. On Bonfire Night, grown-ups set off fireworks, light bonfires, and sometimes burn a doll that looks like Guy Fawkes.

Usain Bolt became one of  world’s the most celebrated sportsman after his record breaking runs in the Olympic Games of 2008, where he won three gold medals and set records at 100m and 200m. He went on to win three more gold medals at the London 2012 Olympics. Usain was born on 21 August 1986 in Sherwood Content, a small town in Trelawny, Jamaica. As a youngster he was mostly interested in sports, spending time playing football, cricket and basketball. At one time he considered a career as a cricketer, but, his natural talent for sprinting shone through and so he was encouraged to take the path of sprinting. At 15 years old, Usain already towered over his fellow competitors. Growing to a height of 6 foot 5 inches, Usain showed a sprinted need not be short and powerful like previous sprinting greats. In 2002, he won Gold in the World Junior Championships in the 200 metres. At this stage in his career, Usain appeared to give the impression of being quite laid back. He didn’t lead an austere disciplined life, but, enjoyed dancing and the night-life of Kingston, Jamaica.

If you ask most skygazers to name their favorite meteor shower, they will say “Perseid”. This annual shower seemingly has it all: It offers a consistently high rate of meteors year after year; it produces a higher percentage of bright ones than most other showers; it occurs in August when many people take summer vacation; and it happens at a time when nice weather and reasonable nighttime temperatures are common north of the equator. No other major shower boasts all four of these attributes.

The best views will come in the predawn hours of Friday morning the 12th, after the waxing gibbous Moon sets around 1 a.m. local daylight time. The spectacle will continue to improve as dawn approaches because the shower’s radiant — the spot on the border between the constellations Perseus and Cassiopeia where the meteors appear to emanate from — climbs higher.

As always, you’ll see more meteors at a viewing site far from any artificial lights. Look about two-thirds of the way from the horizon to the zenith, but don’t get tunnel vision gazing at one location. Let your eyes wander so your peripheral vision can pick up meteors you otherwise might not see. Keep comfortable by reclining in a lawn chair or lying on an air mattress. And bring along a sweater or light jacket. Even if evening temperatures are comfortable, you won’t be active and can get chilled in a hurry.
